How did Cork Chic come about?
While living and traveling extensively in Asia and Europe, I always found myself attracted to textiles, having culturally distinctive patterns, textures and colors. For souvenirs, I purchased handbags made from fabrics unique to the areas of the world I visited with my family.
Now, every time I use a particular purse, I'm instantly transported back to the places we've traveled. One textile in particular has caught my interest for its classic look and outstanding qualities-cork! While in Spain, I purchased a handbag made from Portuguese cork.
After returning to the United States, I found myself wishing I had purchased another and yet another for my family and friends. Unable to find a cork purse in the local shops, I was inspired to bring these ecologically friendly fashion accessories to my community.
